Welcome Guest, posting in this forum requires registration. Forum » Moon Europa » Ice crust Research » Ice crust thickness Please see this article: Academic reference: Summary: Is Europa's ice crust thin or thick? Conclusion: The data suggests that Europa's ice shell is greater than 10km thick, but that subsurface lakes exist less than 3km in depth. I think, that ice crust thick and thin both. Vast majority of ice shield are thick, but in some places it may be thin enough. It is possible if to guess existence of salt lakes near the Europa's surface. I think that this guess not unreal. IMHO. Quote from most on October 2, 2013, 08:24 There May be Deep Cracks on that Ice Crust Leading Direct below Ocean 😉 Just A rough Idea. I posted with some detail in general Forum about this.
