Forum » Human Factors » General health issues and threats » Sleep Deprivation and Stress It's a long ways to Jupiter from Earth and you are in a (probably tiny cramped) tin can with around 6 other people. Sleep deprivation and stress are 2 major problems that can arise with a long space journey. Ideas for Stress relief: Sleep Deprivation is a major problem that people don't notice happening to them. In Space this is worse since you don't have sunrise/set to assist in sleeping times. Research Ideas: Ideas to help with sleep patterns: Or we could put people in artificial comas with reduced metabolic rates. These are interesting topics - you should really do some kind of report pointing out at least the issues.. and present ideas.. http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/07/prweb406355.htm and http://www.space.com/19168-mock-mars-flight-reveals-big-sleep-concerns-for-astronauts.html 2 sites with info on test dealing with sleeping problems we would encounter while in space
